John Hoopingarner serves as Executive Vice President for Emergent Technologies, Inc., and currently serves on the management team for ETI portfolio company Caisson Biotech as President.
Mr. Hoopingarner joined Emergent Technologies, Inc. in May 2000, as Vice-President, New Business Development. His primary responsibilities were developing markets for MedSynergy and identifying and developing new opportunities for potential commercialization using the Emergent Technologies business model. In May, 2001, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and in this assignment directed the routine business between the companies, their university partner, and their clients. He continues to serve as President of Hyalose, L.L.C., and most recently as President of newly formed ETI portfolio company Caisson Biotech, LLC.. His business development experience comes from the upstream oil and gas services industry in various domestic and foreign assignments for Dresser Industries and Brown & Root. He also served in several managerial positions in operations, sales, engineering, and personnel development for SEDCO Inc. and Sedco Forex-Schlumberger around the world.
Mr. Hoopingarner is currently serving in his second year on the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce BioAustin Council. He also serves on the Oklahoma Health Center Foundation CEO Committee.
Mr. Hoopingarner earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
